Elements that can influence the amount of puppies born

There are some factors that might influence the amount of puppies your Pit bull conceives. These factors are very important and should be taken in consideration when owning a female pit bull as it will give you ideas on how to go about it’s mating or breeding. These factors are;

Body size: The overall body mass of your pit bull can affect the amount of pups it conceives. Like other small dogs, if your pit bull has a small body structure, it will give birth to smaller sized pups, in smaller numbers. Most give birth to the average 5 puppies in a litter. Bigger sized pit bulls, may give birth to as much a 13 pups per litter because their womb can carry more. Knowing this might clear doubts as to why your dog gave birth to more or less pups.

Age factor: Young pit bulls tend to give birth to more pups than their older genders because their body system is still functioning well in all aspects. The reproductive system of a younger person is stronger and more active that older ones, making them function better. If you have an old female pit bull, it would do you and your dog better, to not have high hopes on producing much pups after mating.

Medical issues: It is factual that people who are medically unbalanced tend to produce less output than those balanced medically. So if your pit bull is having health issues, you should be more concerned about it’s health than asking why it gives birth to less pups than average. Taking your pit bull to the vet doctor for treatments, will ensure it gives birth to more pups, in a healthy condition.

CONCLUSION

Pregnancy in dogs is the same as in humans, so giving your mutt approximate care and affection during this time is mandatory in ensuring its peaceful coexistence and comfort. If you are lost on how to take care of the newly born pups, you could sell some out to other respectable people to make care taking easier.

Pit bulls can be very loving and charming creatures, if treated properly. The fact that you are a dog owner, means you have a responsibility to look and care after your dog, as failure to do so, would affect not only you, but also the said dog and other living creatures in the environment.
